Hey everyone,
I've been checking out the forums about all things Xtracycle for almost a year now, and have decided it's time to actually act. I'm pretty much a newbie in the bike world, but am dedicated to being car-free, and I want an Xtracycle, bad. Money is only a big factor if I don't think $2700 for the BD complete is worth it. I've read a lot of threads about Xtracycle here, and the LHT + xtracycle vs. BD thread helps, but now that it's been a year since people posted on that thread, I'd like to hear some more opinions.
I either want to build a Surly Instigator + Free Radical, build up a Big Dummy, buy the BD complete from Xtracycle or buy the BD complete from Surly. What do you think price differences between these different possibilities should be, and basically do you think the $2700 BD offers enough to be worth it?
Finally, besides being able to take the Xtracycle off of the Instigator sometime down the road, does the Big Dummy have any downside vs. adding the Free Radical to an Instigator?
