I have Eggbeaters on my bikes, and I just ordered some new shoes so needed a new set of Crank Bros cleats.

Went to the store, got a pair of "Premium" cleats, which look pretty similar in shape to the SPD cleat - now the first cleats I ever got were different, and I've another pair similar to my new "Premium" cleats - both of the latter not seeming as solid in my pedals. In short, I want to know what these are called and where I can get them to swap over, as these are the ones that I have one set of that seem to clip/feel more solid:

The other cleats are more like this, that I don't want:

Anyone know where I can the top ones, and what the difference in feel could be?

You in fact do want the bottom ones: http://www.crankbrothers.com/premium_cleat.php?itemId=

The cleats look like normal SPD cleats, but they are not the same, and the ones you posted first are not Crank Brothers cleats.

Well, they came with one pair of Eggbeater SLs I ordered, and show up as crank brothers cleats on a GIS, that being said they're no longer/not on the CB website, so *shrug*.

The bottom ones don't feel stable, it's as though they're too deep and touching the pedal on the bottom of the cleat giving me 'wobble' - which isn't a nice feeling.

The upper ones are exactly what came with my Candys. The lower ones are the same as my Quattros.

The bottom ones are what came with my Exile 29er, which came stock with CB MXRs.

I think CB is pushing towards the premium cleats now. The old ones work great when new, but honestly, they wear too fast, and from what I've seen in the 4 sets I've used in 2 years, they tend to wear unevenly too. For some reason, my left cleat is significantly more worn in than my right, and the release is uneven at best, but still much better than any other system I've used.

I'm gonna order a set of premium cleats sometime, but I haven't been riding clipless that much recently.
