do the crank bro's mallet pedals work WITHOUT cleated shoes on? do the retention bars poke your foot in soft shoes?

better off just using the 50/50s?

I've bought a pair of these, but not fitted them yet. if you can wait a week or so, i will give you a definitive answer, in the meantime, I would say they would work OK with some heavily lugged footwear. Tennis shoes, not so much...

I run them on my big dummy. They're great for a quick run to the store, but do poke your feet a bit. I figure if I'm riding more than 2 miles, it worth the time to put bike shoes on. Nice being able to just hop on the bike in sneakers though.
