Do the frame and tire sizes have to match in some way? I'm looking at a 14" Azonic Evolution II frame and wanted to know if i needed a certain size wheel.
Bike frames are fairly particular about wheel sizes because of the relationship
between where the rim is and the brake pads are. Azonic should be standard
650 ATB wheel and these will usually take tires from 1.5 or a bit larger to 2.25+
knobbies. If you use disc brakes then you can be a bit more cavalier about
wheel size but realistically there aren't that many different size wheels suitable
to that frame. 700 sized wheels would probably fit, 622 ditto but sub 600 sized
wheels would be weird. The 700 size might be marginal in the rear and should be
checked for tread frame clearance, especially with larger tires. Steve
