They are IRO's, without the decals. I suppose if you want a candy bike, it might be a convenient way to go. Otherwise, there are cheaper options.

Wow, expensive...and super expensive if you upgrade anything. Fixed/free for $45 more, and $35 more for a rubino upgrade? The upgrades seem overpriced when they should be discounted since it's an upgrade and youre original stock product price should be deducted.

I think they sell decent bikes with bright colors for the masses.
If I had to buy a complete I'd likely get a KHS flite. First upgrade
would be a King headset, Cane Creek brake. Second upgrade an Easton or Thomson
seatpost with two bolts. Ride the Alex wheels into the ground then
upgrade those. Don't get suckered in by the silly colors those at
Mission those are just decent bikes that aren't different or better
than cheaper completes.

does IRO know that they are simply re-branding their frames? I know for a fact that alot of Mission Cycles' customers don't know that. what a ****ty business model.

Basically it just saves the trouble of doing the work yourself.
But that is part of the fun, I think, at least.
Powder coating I'd say is the thing they have going for them. That is not something I would do myself.

well, they farm out the powdercoating as well, right. So you are basically paying them a serious premium to pick up your bike and put it together for you?!
i think they kinda misrepresent that they are actually offering a service and NOT as they allude to custom-made bicycles. they are simply (not even personally) assisting people in the much more affordable steps in customizing the color of bike frames.
still seems lame and kinda mis-representative.

Both IRO and Mission Bicycles are made by Maxway, a Taiwanese company. There is no "re-branding" going on.

Even if they did do their own powdercoating, the price of their bikes negates that. It would probably be cheaper to just get the frame from IRO and have it powdercoated locally.

What I meant is that I can do everything cept powdercoat my bike, so that would be the only incentive for me to buy from them.
But the exorbitant price precludes this option for me.
For that much money I'll buy that Pista Concept on CL. :)
