Hi,
I'm a mountain biker and I'm hoping to get a compact camera(leaning towards those internal lens type, like Sony T series, Fuji Z series) which I can take with me during my rides. Care to share with me what camera u guys brought with you during your rides? I plan to put the camera into a pouch which can be hung from my Camelbak shoulder strap. With that, it will be easy for me to take photos on the go. Any recommendation? Is the Olympus 1040 good? Thanks.

I use a Cannon A530.
Have it mounted on the handle bars.
Takes a 1/4 bolt, Started with a light mount bracket.
I ride mostly smooth roads.Your pouch idea may be best for you.

I bought a Canon A470 as an "on the go" camera. Great photos,
easy to pack/carry, etc. Gave it to my oldest daughter recently.
Sanyo makes a great little camera, the VPC-E760, which is
inexpensive and takes good pics as well.
Almost any Canon Camera, I LOVE my 790 IS and my girlfriends 1100.
Canon SD1000 from Costco last spring. It may be smaller than a pack of smokes and takes some decent pics. I even strapped it to my bars once and took a video of my commute.
My wife got me an Olympus SW850 and I love it. It's perfect for my active lifestyle since it is very small and compact, waterproof, shockproof, and freeze proof! It takes awesome pics too! Available in stores like Target (only blue) but order online and get your choice of color. She got me black and it looks sharp!

Thanks for the replies guys. Basically, I eyeing on the Fuji Z100, Olympus 1040 & 1050SW and Sony T2. All these cameras hv internal lens, this will be easy for me to put it back into the camera pouch while it's on cause the lens does not protrude out. Anyone here has experience with the cameras above?
Btw, I already hv the Canon 40D and G9. The G9 is too bulky for me to bring along for my rides. This compact/small camera would be my cycling(road and off road) camera.
Tyrell, how's the image quality of the 850SW?
I hv my gallery here at www.pbase.com/tsbok (http://www.pbase.com/tsbok) . I intend to create another gallery specially for my road and mountain biking trips. :)
The 850SW takes very good pics and it has an internal lens like your looking for (just like to 1050SW you mentioned). It's perfect for the rough and tumble conditions of mountain biking, or hiking, or whatever active. Looks nice enough to use at a nice dress-up function as well (just hose it off first).
It has several modes and options to help you get the best pic in the conditions (I'm not a photo pro). We used it on our honeymoon in Costa Rica where it rained 35" in 6 days and it worked wonderfully. Got some great shots of us ziplining in a downpour. No worries about water! She even tested the shock-proofness by tossing it across a souvenir shop on accident. Barely a scratch on it and it still works fantastically. I highly recommend the Olympus.
