I am using a vacation day this Friday 11/21

Anybody up for 70 miles?

I hope I get some takers to come with me along the scenic Martinez shoreline, (the road is rolling hills and part is even closed to cars!) then over Pig Farm, from the easy direction, and the 3 Bears.

Here is the route with a start/finish at North Concord Bart

Link: Bikely Map (http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Martinez-Shorline-3-Bears-Metric)

I have the whole day free and am flexible on start time.

Any takers?

Lance

What time? I'm also flexible, but would prefer not to fight morning rush hour to get there! A 9:30 or 10:00 start would be great.

I haven't been riding much, so I'm not as strong as the last time we rode together.

I'd be in for a low key ride...I'm doing the low key hill climb Sat. so I want to save some glycogen for that, but it would be fun to hang out and ride with you guys.

That sounds like a great start time.

I am looking for companionship, not record time. Social pace is fine with me.

Let me know if you are in.

jonathanb715 and taxi777,

That is great that you are both in.

Meet at North Concord Bart (meet by the ticket turnstiles this station only has one central set)

9:30 or 10:00?

Either works for me - Pete's probably a slave to the BART schedule, though.

Pete,

Can you make 9:30?

The earlier start means a more casual pace and time for lunch.

We wish you could come. We will raise a cup of Starbucks and toast to your health!

By the way here is an exchange from a conversation at a Sausalito sidewalk cafe stop on a recent ride.

Constantrider: That (referring to a bike we were oggling) is a bike set up for brevets.

Pete: Yeah, you have to carry a lot of stuff to prepare for temperature changes and weather and darkness.

Me: I know, you mean like jobob right?

Pete: No, jobob prepares for the apocolypse, not brevets. :)
