Road Cycling - Any experence with R A Cycles?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I am looking to buy a bike from these folks by mail. Any of you had any experence with them good or bad?

One of the guys in my club bought a Pinarello from the last year (in store...not mail order). He was not at all happy with their service. I was also in the store once and they were not that friendly but I guess I am used to my LBS who always take good care of me

THank you for the reply. I would love to buy from my LBS, but they tell me that the Giant TCR1 Composite I want to order through them is sold out for the year! That fact has been confirmed by the next nearest dealers to me, so I am looking for someone who has this bike in stock. CA claims that the bike is in stock.

I got my Litespeed Ghisallo frameset from them, avoided high australia duty as they and packaged it as demo frame. Had it FedEx courier shipped which included insurance. Had phone dealings with Al Cabbad who was very helpful. Expensive transaction went through without a hitch, through their on-line store via credit card. Just noticed the original post was from 04

they seem to have better service by mail order. i bought my soloist team there years ago. They were nice when i got the bike but not when i went back in to browse and pick up a few things.
They ignore you in the store unless your like the lady that was in there the last time i was
" i would like to buy a tri bike and i have 5k to spend" They jumped on her

I've never bought from them but have been in there for service and it was ok. They have a lot of high end bikes to gawk at which is exactly what I did while they worked on my bike. I've heard about the lousy attitude of the shop workers but I didn't experience that at all, they were nice enough when we were talking about a DeRosa they had on display.

Four and a half year old thread. I hope the OP's bike hasn't been held up in the mail all this time.

I've not bought a bike or frame from them, but they were my LBS for at least a few years. I never had any issues or problems with them at all (but I'm aware of their spotty reputation with customer service). I knew the owner and several workers pretty well, so maybe that explains the good service I always got. Thumbs up. Best selection of high end frames you're likely to find anywhere.

I have seriously got to learn to pay closer attention of post dates.
