this has been posted here before, probably more than a few times. however in my estimation, it is always worth another look...

it is strangely prophetc in that it describes a linear system of force fed consumersim to be a 'system in crisis.'
the main points of the video focus on the environmental unsustainablility and human toll of such a system, but recent events show another form of crisis. that of the the fragile nature of such a system. when consumers stop or slow their consuming... things lock up, fail, and fall apart very quickly.
(i know this is not car-free specifically, but with the success of the "should we bail out the auto industry" thread- i thought this was worth a repost)
