I wanted to post this site in case y'all haven't seen it. You can log your trips weekly and your employer gets some kind of brownie points or something. Anyway, I heard through the rumor mill that people who cycle to work get some kind of tax break, so I thought this was a good place to start logging my rides as proof in case I need it one day.

Happy commuting!

I tried it for some time, as I am part of the NCTCOG bicycle and pedestrian task force, but it's too big of a pain as I don't always do teh saem # of miles, and they are not always to work, I now only log my miles on DORBA.

I do it for selfish reasons really. I was hoping that, if employers got something out of it, there would be some kind of payback, like corporate investment in awareness programs, more bike paths, etc. My dream is that they will let me park my bike in my cube one day, but I know that's got a snowballs chance... :)

This, IMO, is one of its biggest drawbacks, and that it's not tracking even half of my eliminated car trips. Since I have a fair amount of stuff to haul to work and back, I use the bike more for runs to the store to pick up one or two items than for the commute. Since my commute is only 3 miles each way, three or four 3 mile round trips to the grocery store or quick stop will outweigh two bike commutes a week pretty quickly.

If they'd add functionality for utility riding, it would greatly improve their numbers and more accurately track the desired statistic of reduced car trips.
