That would be the NITTO Lamp Holder 2?
It only works on 26.0 bars. That means that it won't work on MTB bars and newer oversized 31.8 bars (which are now pretty much standard).
It is also twice (http://www.benscycle.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=146_240&products_id=875&zenid=c7de8dfebb6340bf1c3bfa9b82385985) the price.
If it works for your application it does look like a pretty nice unit.

I'm looking for a stem mount for my handheld Garmin. That'll free up room for light on one side, odometer on the other.

there is a lamp holder 1 as well, and seeing as I run nitto bars....well it's not an issue. Not knocking your product but you should really not be schleping for sales in the commute forum.

IMHO, the BDOP DASHBOARD GENIE has a better clamping system and NO plastics are involved. It's all machined aluminum and carbon fiber, baby.

As a paid member it was my understanding that this was acceptable.
Please explain to me how this is any different than the group buys I, and many others, have run on this site.

I could use two of them - for about half that price.......
WOW! For twenty bucks shipped that looks like a great deal. Now I wish I had some clutter on my bars so I would have an excuse to buy one. :o
Something like this that had a quick release would interest me greatly. The ability to move lights from one bike to another without hassle would be nice.

These aren't made from plastic ($10-12). Or Steel and nylon ($22). They're machined aluminum and carbon fiber ($20). The PRO version has Ti hardware ($25).
Did I mention that this was the 'to your door' price?

Clutter?? I've been using one of these since 2002.
Yea, but that isn't made out of carbon fiber. ;)

Make it twice as long, with so it would extend both ways, the same as it does one way, and it might be worth it. Just make the tube twice the length.
The available length of one, just isn't enuf. Heck, I've got 4 lights on my bars now.

From the center of your bar to the center of the mounting arm is 5.5cm.

PM'd you about buying two of them. A purchase link would be sweet.

Sale concluded. Will ship ASAP.
Thanks.
I thought about a purchase page but I wanted to work directly with customers for a while until I was too busy to handle it. I value the feedback at this point in my companies development and wouldn't get that with a straight up BUY NOW page.
It will come, though. In the meantime I am going to make it clearer on how to buy.

Nope. Just like it is, with a mounting bar (CF) twice as long - just extending out both ends - would be fine.
The mounting bracket itself, looks plenty secure.

Ah. Now I understand. That is a good idea. Thanks for the suggestion.
I need to walk with this product before I run with it. I will keep this in mind as I move forward. Maybe I will introduce it a little later if sales of the current version remain strong.

Keep me informed!
Id really like to see one that clamps on both sides of the stem with the mounting bar in between. I had one built but it's a monstrosity. Course, the upside is someone can sit on it and it wont move and vibrations are non existent. The downside is its kind of heavy.

That's a nice bit of work but I can see how it would be really heavy. I think all that would be needed would be a change in materials to save some weight.
I agree.. the problem is the person who made this for me wasnt able to build the clamp like I wanted and it ended up being heavier than it needed to be. We did plan another revision but at this point Im probably not going to pursue it. I just dont think I can get the weight down to something that's going to be reasonable.

JayC,
It also looks like if you really want something that mounts on both sides, all you really need is two of the items being advertised... and you'll have a replacement cross member for your parts bin. ;)
I personally would like this support, but I would like two supports plus a carbon fiber bar about a foot long that could be custom cut with glue-in end caps. Sell that for $30, and I would be all over it.

That would be about 4 times the amount of carbon. That would be impossible to do at this price.
I am considering a less expensive version that uses a plastic tube instead of carbon. With plastic this might be doable but I'm a ways off from taking that step.

That's great. Under normal conditions it would be about a week.
Unfortunately, I sold out yesterday. I will write a new order next week. I will know my delivery date by then. My guess is 3-4 weeks. If you are still interested contact me at: sales@bdopcycling.com.

At this point the vendor only offers a 70mm carbon bar and a 50mm plastic bar.
I can make inquiries and see what is possible. How long were you thinking?
