So here is my 2009 race schedule.

A couple of races I have done before and a couple of new ones for me

5/30/09 - Mohican 100 (http://www.ombc.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=59&Itemid=65)(new for me)

7/11/09 - 24 hours of Pats Peak (http://www.patspeak.com/summer/bike.php)- Solo

8/1/09 - Wilderness 101 (http://www.mtntouring.com/mountain/htm/wilderness_101/w101_body.htm)

9/6/09 - Shenandoah Mountain 100 (http://www.mtntouring.com/mountain/htm/shenandoah_mountain_100/page_sm100.htm) (new for me)

9/27/09 - Vermont 50 (http://www.vermont50.com/)

I like the schedule because it kind of spreads races out 1 per month. I can still do a few local races here and there in between.

And based on my experiences last year, I have to order a few things for camping (bose noise cancelling headphones!!) and I should be all set.

Training starts officially 12/1/08. !!! Can't let myself get too fat this winter

Looks like a nice schedule you've got there . . . and an athletically-ambitious one to boot. Yeah, it's nice having the month-spread. Good luck!

gracias, D. When do you find out your race schedule for your downhill series next year?

When I find out if my wife will let me do Sea Otter again

Seriously, I'm not sure. Crankworx is on my tentative schedule. That will probably be my big one for the year unless I go back to Sea Otter as well.

The regional calendars like for the Fluidride Cup and area resorts (Silver Mountain, etc.) haven't been set yet. I probably won't have a handle on it all for another month or two.

I was thinking about doing the 100k version of Mohican. And if I can get some of my friends together, I want to do the 24 hour of Mohican.

That's some racing! I'll have to save some of those for a future year :)

They announced one of our local series calendars, so time to start picking out events!

If you've never rode the mohicans, you'll have fun. Make sure you have a tire with good rear grip (the first climb at mohican wilderness is really steep and can be hard if its slightly damp or there is horse crap that you have to dodge). Both have some sweet downhills.

It really feels like you are out in the middle of no where (state park) because you go a long way with out interruption of roads or the sound of anything other than the bike and the surrounding woods.

Oh, added a new race. 5/3 michaux maximus 40+ miler. I think it is about 50 miles but I have heard varying reports. Whatever. Just kind of a fun race to kick off the season. I am not in the shape I want to be in, but am getting there.
