Here it is if you haven't seen it. (http://www.carryfreedom.com/city.html)
I'm looking at switching over to folding bikes since I am dealing with space issues at my current and future apartments. I like the trailer design as something that can easily carry what I would need for school and work, allow me an easier transition when arriving to a destination (sling backpack on and carry bike and trailer frame in) and give me a little bit of room to run errands here and there.
I don't mind shelling out the $$$ for something well designed and useful, but if there is an was DIY alternative it would be great.
Any thoughts?

My friend bought this one after I found it on the net. He used to travel europe (and more) using train, plane and folding bike. He used to carry a backpack, but both him and the rear wheel of his bike got tired of that.
I`we been thinking of a DIY solution for this trailer for a long time. Collectedthe parts but did not do more. Maybe becouse I do not really need it, just want it.
I made a DIY of the flatbed trailer on the same site. Presented in the trailer sticky on this site.
There is other partly Diy ways of solving this depending of what is awailable lokally, but if you are going to use it alot, maybe go for the real thing.
The pix is not mine. They are "shoppingcarts" for bikes they sell in Denmark.
If you find one similar that is made for using when walking you can put a new axel and wheels from a babystroller. You need the good quality ones with proper bearrings.
What I like alot about them is you can take the trailer innside the house / shop. The carry freedom one you can strap the folded bike on top of the trailer and walk off.
I`d say buy the city and make (DIY) a bigger (flatbed?) trailer for bigger loads.

The Carryme looks like a well thought out design, and should do the job as long as you don't overload it. The second one looks like a modern reincarnation of the old Canondale Bugger:lol: and I have pulled one of those many miles. Not the greatest design but time tested for sure.

Since I'm selling the car monday and the bike is my replacement, I'm not opposed to the small investment. Just seeing what other similar options are out there.
One of the appealing things is that I can pretty much pack up night before and if the weather is crap the next morning, just sling the backpack on and hop on the bus.
I had planned on using the Re-Cycle trailer design for a load carrying trailer, but the space I have available is nixing that idea. Instead I'm going to look around for on of those kid trailers that converts to a stroller. The thought being that, with a folding bike, I can roll up to the store, convert the trailer and toss the folded bike in and go shopping.
