General Cycling Discussion - some April 1st fun

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
No, not concerning bike forums :D

there is a one problem with those wheels.. a single point of failure. what are you gonna do when this one single spoke pops out on you in the middle of a ride???

I was really hoping for the monospoke big hit offroad wheels. Maybe next year.
That's some good stuff.

Excellent wheel! But if you replaced the hub with a super magnet and the wheel rim was an equal polar magnet, would that not eliminate the single spoke entirely. Then you'd have no spoke to break, no spare to carry and think how smooth the ride would be.
:)

Been here and there Marty. Cycling has been largely curtailed on account of the season and other projects cropped up that put it way back down on the list of things to be addressed. The Gemini 1000 was rolled out of the shed this morning for its first ride in months though I have been very active at the gym 3-4 x week so I'm feeling fit and looking forward to ride now that its getting lighter. Some of the guys at the office want to come riding some time after work so that'll be fun. I'm also putting a team together to do a 24 hr endurance ride in August (my first). We are looking at buying property in Italy as we'd like to move out there in a couple of years or so. I'm also hoping to give up IT then and move into doing carpentry and discover some trails in Tuscany/Umbria. A lot of good plans, but like all things, I'll see what pans out. My consultant at the hospital has put me on the recipient list for beta cell transplant as that's beginning to become more viable now but the prospect of anti-rejection drugs appeals no more than the sh1t-load of insulin I take now! Must not grumble, mind.
Have I missed anything of major importance. I was cruising around the groups and there are a lot of names I don't recognise and I see that a2p has a very serious thread count! It look as if Joe is still acting mighty weird, ChrisL is acting like a real plonker, and no doubt KleinMp99 is still pi$$ing everyone off. That should elicit a few replies form the regulars!
:D
