I'm going to be in Las Vegas from January to April or May and I was wondering if any of you guys have a recommendation on where to live from a cyclist's point of view. (Which areas are close to good rides and are cyclist friendly?)

Here's where I'll be working:

I'll only have to go there once a week though, so if there are any super good places I should look at I'd be willing to live on another side of town.

I've only been to Las Vegas once and did a quick ride at Red Rock. Other than that I don't know much about the area. I'm mostly a roadie (love to climb) and a commuter, but since I'll only have to commute once a week I'm probably going to try to find a good deal on a used MTB that can double as my commuter.

Any suggestions?

I live in the Henderson/South Vegas area and would recommend the Green Valley/Henderson area. A bit more cycling friendly, more diversity of rides, close to where you will need to commute to. There are several groups in the area that meet and ride regularly during the week and on weekends.
