Anyone ever installed 26 X 1.5 tires in the Wilderness Bl-36 kit? There pretty much MTB city slicks. I read somewhere it was only able to handle "balloon" tires.

My BL-36 kit is installed on "balloon" tires; 40psi. I think that any tire that fits on the rim can be used on your bike. I was shopping around for slicks to install on my beach cruiser but encounter two problems:
First is that my beach cruiser lacks a good suspensions system and my 40 psi "balloon" tires acts as my main "cushion" suspension. And secondly, I live in the Los Angeles area, and our roads here are littered with small junk so having some tread on my tires helps from the onslaught of "punctured tire" junk on the road. Which leads to a third point: install a bicycle tire liners or puncture resistant tires on your bike. My biggest problems are getting flat tires; I think the added weight from the E-hub and battery pack contributes to this problem. Hope this helped ya a little-bit.

I have a BionX rear wheel and run a high pressure 1.5" Specialized Nimbus slicks with no problems. You do need to change the way you ride abit. I can't bunny hop my ebike, so I need to keep that in mind when I see potholes and speed bumps and ridges and rises and be abit more cautious. I had intially run a 1" slick which of course was very speedy. It installed fine, but numerous pinch flats put an end to that.

awesome..just bought the nimbus 1.5 slicks as well. I just installed them and can now reach 24/25mph on flat road instead of 21/22mph. Thanks
