my wife and I are looking to buy a pair of hybrid bicycles and a tag along for my daughter,I have got a eddie mercx super prestige racer that I recieved as a present back in 1977 it is a little rusty but still very nice to ride does any one know what is worth please
I'm going to move this to Classic & Vintage for you, should get a better response over there though you should probably post a few pictures (frame, wheels, drive train, etc...) to give people a better idea of what condition it's in and what's on it.

yep. need pictures, detailed enough to see the condition, and the level of components. if there is a sticker indicating tubing. size would be nice as well.
If its a Mercx its anything but low-end. Components, tubing & overall shape is needed to make evaluation. Mercx collaborated with italian frame builders, but I dunno what frame in -77.

Weren't the Super Prestige bikes part of the Falcon made series?

I think you are correct and at that they were the bottom of that line.
Indeed Falcon bought the rights to label its bikes with Merckx, but from -71 and on the Kessels in Belgium built Merckx-frames. 1976-77 could be Kessels. There are also collaborations with Colnago, Masi and Pella. Theres even a Centurion-Diamondback model (Centurion pro?) that is supposed to be a Kessel frame.
