What chain are you guys using? I need a new one. The SRAM PC99, PC89, (6.9mm) Shimano HG-93, XTR (6.6mm) or Wipermen Connex 905 (6.5mm) I run an XT drive train on my Superlight. Is the SRAM hollowpin worth the money? Thanks

SRAM...

I have finally seen a wipperman...saw the cost...and cried.

SRAM PC-99 on my MTB and PC-89R on my RB. I have heard some possible issues with the hollowpins from some members of this forum though and I haven't tried them yet. Apparently normal chaintools don't work with them or something.

SRAM PC99, 89 or 69

I prefer the Shimano CN 7700 Dura Ace / XTR chain though because it is stronger.

wipperman is too expensive so I've never tried it. but do use them on my road bike (10s)

Get the cheapest compatible chain.

I'd suggest middle of the road. Most times with "cheap" you get what you pay for.

actually perhaps with Shimano chains thats true. For Shimano chains the CN 7700 is a lot better than the cheaper alternatives

With Sram the PC59 is crap while theres no difference in performance between 69, 89(R) and 99...

With chains, the upper eschelon on too light for me. I stick with a Sram PC69 on all my bikes. Affordable and strong. The weight difference is insignificant. I collect more weight by picking up mud on my bike when I ride.
