Forum Suggestions & User Assistance - Taken to bottom of page

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Every time I click on a thread, I am taken to the bottom of the page. Is this a forum issue or am I the only one having this problem? I'm using IE7. I had this same problem a couple of weeks ago.

I haven't had the problem, with Solaris, Firefox or IE.
Are you clicking the thread link itself or the arrow by the listed last post.....I have to ask, not thinking anything else here. ;)

I'm clicking on the thread link at the left side of the screen. I don't go to the last post of the thread, just the bottom of the page. If I click on the "2" for a three page thread, I am taken to the bottom of page 2, etc. Wierd.

If you click on the > in the blue box you will go there...I say do clear all cookies and the temp file as I have a suspicion you either have critters or you accidentally hit a keystroke sequence and IE is playing parlor games. Best yet, shut down and pull the plug for twenty minutes or just do a system restore (you do have a regular resetting on the point don't you)?
If all else fails, put the lime in the coconut, drink it all up and call us in the morning:D:rolleyes:
Most of that will work sometimes and if I knew why I wouldn't have to I guess.
It could happen, said Judy Tenuta.

It only does this when I am logged in.
"I say do clear all cookies and the temp file as I have a suspicion you either have critters or you accidentally hit a keystroke sequence and IE is playing parlor games."
I've done all that a few times since my last post in this thread. I've also run various system scans looking looking for malware and viruses and the like. I did all those things before I started this thread, also.

My computer has fun with me sometimes and then it goes away. I suppose if it had fangs or whips I might not be here...
You do recall that if you hit certain keys rapidly a few times in a row it turns on Sticky Keys (REAL WINDOWS FEATURE, found in XP)? Makes you wonder if some Microsoft emgineers didn't get really drunk one night and invent all these 'easter eggs' doesn't it?
After 29 years using computers, 22 with Windows I figure I practice swearing at servers and the junk I usually build myself. It tends to clear by itself.
While you're at it clear the CMOS by pulling the battery and pull the RAM. Let it sit for awhile, read the manual, put it together, reconfigure BIOS and F8 on the reboot to select the last known working configuration.
If none of that changes it's mind, like I said change your settings.
I gave up figuring why it does some things because I would never find out and it would apparently behave again and who knows why?
If you've ever had a cat that stalks it's prey and stops to clean itself in the middle, that is a computer more or less.

Ask a silly question ...
I didn't think my question was THAT silly.
Maybe if I reverse the polarity of the fratistat and the gizahoots, it'll recalibrate the gizmochy and my computer will stop playing games with me.
Don't give up your day job for a career in comedy.:D
