My daughter cheers for McAdenville Dolphins - a local PopWarner football and cheering league. She was entered in the Little Miss Princess for McAdenville and the football team votes for prettiest girl to win.
When it was time to call runner up my heart started racing like I was in the contest. She wasn't called. Then I just thought, well, maybe next year. There's just so many pretty girls on her team. (and I kept telling her, "No matter what happens, remember, you're the most beautiful girl to me.")
Her name was called. I didn't even notice until she let go of my hand and walked up to get her crown. I almost started crying.

Thanks. Sometimes I really don't. But my wife will usually let me know.

No gun, unfortunately. My wife and I have already discussed this issue. Now that the girls are older, we are thinking of going to a class and getting our licenses.

I'm happy for you and your daughter. She is a pretty girl.
I'm not sure how I feel about the concept behind this whole "Little Miss Princess" contest though. I can't help but think that more girls go home disappointed and feeling a bit more insecure than go home feeling happy and self-assured. Hopefully the contest is done with a degree of sensitivity for the girls who don't win anything.

Was looking at doing a class here in Charlotte myself, been over 20 years since I have fired anything other than a shotgun at some clay pigeons.

Wait til she's 16! On that note, let me know, I can help you find something appropriate to terrify the BF with by being out on the front porch cleaning it, like a Mossberg Model 500 pump or something. ;) He'll either be terrified, or you'll gain a skeet/range partner. ;)

Look at that third pic! Shes happy! Beautiful! Stylish! and still keeps the little girl in her with those UBER COOL gloves! :thumb: Great job dude! I would have balled like a little girl! ;)
P.S. USAZorro is right, Id keep her out of "Little Miss Princess" type contest, they tend to create little monsters instead of a little miss.

There's one here in Belmont too. It's on my list of things to get done for 2009.

Way to go Sub.
Well, I have to thank my wife. She has the good genes. Thankfully my daughter got most of hers.

Hey, its America. I am sure they get a 'little miss Piggy' consolation award w/ a super model diet book.

Great pics, sub. She's a beautiful little girl.
re: guns: Went to the movie "Twilight" Saturday with my wife and our friend. In the scene where the main character brings home her new boyfriend, her Dad (who's also the police chief) is cleaning his shotgun at the table when she announces she wants to bring him in. Our friend looked at me and my wife...and didn't have to say a word. That's our daughter over there <--- in the photo.
I've been getting my guns nice and dirty so that I'll have plenty to clean when my daughter starts bringing the boys home.
Looks like you'll need it sooner than I will!
Being a dad is awesome! I'm very proud of my two daughters.
