Hmm, I don't doubt your right. They had Weinmann hoods and no other markings, so I made a guess. But what do I know? These things were probably made ~10 years before I was born!

If it's a 105 circa 1987, you can likely replace the bearings for a few cents apiece, repack and go. Are the cones pitted or just built up with rock-hard crud?

I'll try that this weekend, I had it all apart and the bearings seemed smooth, the hub races seemed pitted but maybe it was crud on the surface and not pitting, I'll pull it apart and go at it with a dental pick!!!

JYB I've got an 80x120mm--that's to the max insertion line--that is stamped 26.0 but with my cheap Chinese calipers the clamp is 25 and some change. It's got some scoring where the headset was really torqued down on it but in otherwise good shape. I can send you pics if you want.

Thanks, I guess I should have clarified, since I think there are Technomics out there shorter than I need...I'm looking for the really tall version. The Deluxe would work, though it's shorter than the Tech. It's got a 120mm quill length from max insertion to the top, which is the minimum I'd like.

I have one that is 100mm extension and is 280mm stem length measured along the back of the stem down to the longest part of the stem. Max height line measures 215. Typical used condition, needs clean/polish, but no gouges or corrosion on bolts.

I just went back and measured this again to be sure, and those numbers are correct.

Put a little WD40 on it the night before to loosen it up.

That's ok - bad grammar on my part. Yes, medium or light. I could try dying some, but if I could find such a thing w/out the rigamarole I'd prefer it.

In other trades, I have a 1984 Fuji Del Rey, 57 cm c-t. I bought two of these at once from the original owners, they were identical models, identical size, and each had applied his/hers to their respective bikes.

All original, all there down to reflectors, Suntour ar, Diacompe G brakes, Sugino rt cranks, forged rear dropouts have two eyelets per side, very nice bike overall. The 1984 came with gold anodized rims - on this one, it is pretty much worn off the braking surfaces. The lettering is gold as well as the seat tube panel, sharp combo imo. Paint is all there, no rust issues, some minor decal scratches. Very nice riding bike, although could stand some further cleaning/tuning/tweaking. I've repacked the front hub and the headset, still needs bb and rear hub maintenance. Actually, when I opened up the front hub and the headset, the grease looked pretty good, which reduced my sense of urgency for the remaining jobs.

I'm not sure exactly what I'm looking to trade this for, but probably either interesting frame for my next project or some nice components is most likely what I'm looking for.

Below are the two bikes shortly after I acquired them. The one I still have is in the foreground - since then, I've stripped the foam handlebar wrap and the brake hoods, which were seriously decomposed. I have some dia-compe replacement hoods (black) and a couple rolls of black handlebar tape I'd include if desired.

If interested, let me know, I can send more pics. I'm in the DC area if that makes swaps any easier.

Don't forget about the green leather toe straps, also...

It's not so much a misplaced comma, as a comma where a semi-colon should be.
