Up for trade is my 1982 Trek 412 frameset. Seat tube measures 24" (c-t), top tube measures 23" (c-c). Main frame is Ishiwata 022 tubing and takes a 27.2mm seatpost. The fork is not the original and is likely made from hi-ten steel. I had it powdercoated light blue and put on a replacement Trek seat decal and headbadge.
New Ritchey headset is included but no bottom bracket. Pic below is it built up in current form, but I'm looking to move just the frameset. More pics here (http://picasaweb.google.com/lerner.n/1983Trek412#).
I'm looking for a few things: French bits such as Stronglight or TA cranksets, Mafac Competition brakeset, Atom or Lyotard pedals, leather saddles, 700c Super Champion or Rigida rims or wheels, a boxy handlebar bag, a Nitto Technomic stem with fairly short reach (60-80mm), an early Cyclone or Dura Ace derailleur set. Let me know what you got.

I've still got a ton of stuff in my signature to trade.
mishap w/car on 2 separate occasions. had the fork realigned but shop couldnt get it 100%. i was amazed they got it as straight as it is though. the second time was the back, its slight and didnt bother taking it in. i give the frame 2 years for one of the lugs to crack but rather not wait and see.
as for the wheel, inferior perhaps as reviews of the MA40 have been mixed, but theyre decent parts and if kept maintained it should serve as a good wheel for years to come... so its open to anyone interested.

Dustcaps from the 45/45CA also fit the Berthet pedals. In my experience, 45/45CA pedals are fairly abundant and usually quite cheap. (the 45/45CA axles also can replace worn Berthet axles!)

What's funny is, as much as I hate Shimano, I use their road pedals on all of my bikes. I tried to like the Keos, I really did. With my wide-arse foot though (12 EEE), the Ultegra SL pedals just work better for me.
Anyone need some new Looks, or a pair of slightly used Looks? :p

All Shimano SPD shoes should work on any Shimano SPD pedal. Road/mtn doesnt matter.

This might be a bit of a long shot, but I'm looking to trade this track bike for a decently equipped road bike. I know I won't get much in a modern sense, I don't know if anyone would be interested in trading. Looking for something in the 58-60 range, in nice shape. I don't mind overhauling bearings/cables/etc...just no rust. something italian would be a plus to give my deBernardi some company :)
I have this bike, components are as follows:
57cm bike island frame
new tange threaded headset
new sram chain
Sugino RD crankset/bb w. 48 tooth surly stainless steel chainring
red anodized 32h deep v's-miche track hubs
no name saddle/aluminum seatpost
bars and stem can be switched for a set of black risers i have if you'd like.
the frame is drilled for front and rear brakes, and also has water bottle cage and fender mounts.

Where abouts are you located? Shipping costs can be a deal killer sometimes.
i'm in boston. i have a local shop that will ship bikes for under $50 via ups. in that respect, on my side at least, shipping isn't that big of an issue. however i can understand how it might be for someone not as lucky.
i might also mention that i'd very much entertain offers on a nice groupo as well, it might be easier to ship-and i could probably save up for a frame.

And Shimano actually sold a shoe called the SPD-R, didn't they?
Pedals too. I have a pair of them that I have absolutely no use for.
Have:
Shimano SPD-R Pedals. A bit worn and dirty, but they spin nicely. I'll never use them.
Shimano SLR aero brake levers with white hoods. Excellent condition and the hoods cleaned up to just a couple shades short of their original white.
144 BCD chainrings of assorted sizes. Some Campagnolo, some Sugino. All used, but all still usable.
Campagnolo 980 front derailleur - very nice condition.
Some 6 speed freewheels - mostly SunTour and Shimano.
A few other odds & ends.
Want:
To tell the world how great C&V Forum members are. :)
Decent quality black or dark grey brake calipers with minimal scratches - recessed bolt, medium reach.
SunTour V, Compe V, or other lightweight early 70's SunTour FD with non-rusting/oxidizing cage.
SunTour V, or VX, or other lightweight early 70's medium cage RD that's mechanically sound without oxidation on the cage.

Nothing C&V comes close to the LHT in terms of design for loaded touring. If you're willing to pay that much why go with a sub-par machine? Just for lugs? not worth it.
Is this the unsolicited advice thread or WTB?
