Foo - Overthere & Cycle17 Weekend Rides

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

So on my most recent rip to CA to visit my lovely girlfriend we took to the roads again...
Saturday morning headed toward Winters then up Cantelow.

Before the climb starts, lots of beautiful scenery right after we had a little impromptu sprint:p

Atop Cantelow taking a quick break...the trash can was full of GU GEL and Cliff Bar wrappers! Obviously a popular spot for cyclists.

Overthere comes ripping down the back side of Cantelow, she'd get a new set of brakes latter that day.:D

Sunday, I got a chance to ride with the Davis Bike Club Women's Race Team. A shot from the back as we rolled into Winters. The ladies kept a double paceline at about 18-20mph for 17 miles.

Overthere and I at Steady Eddie's cyclist cafe in Winters. We took a break to warm up and refuel before heading home for the day.

Doesn't he have the greatest smile in that last pic? It was a great weekend. About 90 miles of mostly great weather, and I got to share my favorite stretch of road with him! Oh, and the All-you-can-eat sushi is 'our' thing too! lol.
Siu, after he moves here, we'll get a big Norcal ride welcome ride going! :)

So when is the wedding? Can the NorCal people come? I hope you arrange for bike parking outside of the ceremony. If you are Japanese I can help you cheat and fold the cranes. I can also help wax your bikes.
East Hill makes a mean shortbread so I bet she can make some boomin' cake!!
X can help decorate the bikes with all the fun stuff and Bikingshearer can officiate since he is all official and stuff.
Crassic can be in charge of photography.
We can get Hickeydog up this way and he can be the ringbearer. AEO can be the flowergirl. or boy. Whatever mood he's in for the day.
Chip can be in charge of decorating the hall, I bet he can put on a show. Goobers would be good to sing for your reception.
Scott Morrison and Michele can probably get Richard Simmons to do the choreography for your first dance and BigBossman and Taxi can map out the route you guys take in your ride out.
We can send you to Costa Rica for your honeymoon and you can stay with Crtreedude or Joe and Shadiyah.
LowCel can be in charge of your gifts since he's so frikken organized. Brian will supply his nuts for your party favors while Arti and her creative self will get the guys (workbiker, 65er) to put them together since they put things together all day anyhow.
Shadiyah can probably make a huge vat of koumbacha (or however you spell it) in lieu of wedding punch.
Jsharr will cook fish for the main dish at the dinner.
Pheard can help you sew your dress. As long as it's pink.

If I'm given enough notice, I could also 'visit' me mum and do my baking in San Jose :) .

Sounds like a great weekend! I've really enjoyed my rides up Cantelow, especially now that I can ride up from the West side. Looking forward to the "Welcome" ride when he gets up here.

Thanks! The weight continues to come off. Only a few more pounds to my self-imposed goal.
There is one tough spot on the west side, but after riding with you, IMO you're certainly strong enough to make it up. I did a double Winters Loop a few weeks back. Once up the west side, lunch at Steady Eddy's, then back and up the East side. Good ride. Might have to arrange it for the NorCal group.

I just thought of something. Kaotikgrl can help with the cranes, she's probably better at it than I am. East Hill is doing the wedding cake.
Oh and Kaotikgrl can help Crassic with photography too. She can see things at weddings that regular cameras cannot capture.
Who do you want for your wedding party?? :)
One of these days I'm going to make it out to Cali to do some riding. Great pictures.

Because of your badass bikes and your house. You have good taste in colors and what goes with what. And Stevesurf can help. We gotta get him in here too.
Cranky. Cranky can help usher the guests. MV can help usher the guests too. But he has to do the men because the women, well...we don't want him flirting with all the women guests before they even get a chance to sit down.
OH wait!! 65er can help Jsharr with the dinner!! We can have curry fish or something!!

Seriously though...the riding has been great every time I've been out there. And as for Cantelow, I was thinking as I descended down the West side that I'd love to ride up it. Would it be hard...yeah, but I wouldn't let it kick my *ss.
