Road Cycling - check out my new specialized!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
guys!!! check out my new bike!!!!
Got it today.. I'll post better pics tomorrow when the sun is up... (sorry for the poor pic)
2003 Specialized S-works frame, + my old components(until I can afford a new set)... ;)
What do you think? Is it worth all the trouble (not spending any more bike parts for the whole month, the significant other said)?
I'm still setting it up... I'll be taking it for a 80km ride tomorrow.. Right now, I'm starting w/ a short stem, a more relaxed position. On my next ride, I'll try a slightly longer stem..
I took it for a short spin, <20km ride, and surprisingly it is comfortable.. Feels very light, and faster than my other bike(steel frame)..
Any tips on how I go about my task, setting up a good position... Thanks!
sweet, what the myb in the background..
sweet, what the mtb in the background..
:D :D :D :D :D :D
actually, I have not ridden the MTB for a while now.
Nice bike! With Cipo apparently losing his appetite you might be the next designated sprinter...

How about emulating the position of your previous bike first and then fine-tune from there? ;)

Do you have the matching outfit? For the right position, I would match the position of your old bike...but it sounds like you took it apart already. I find the important dimensions include: rear of seat to center of handlebar, height of handlebar relative to height of seat and back of seat relative to bb. Otherwise, I would recommend a fitting from a good shop.

I'm still a steel fan.. Steel is still real ;)
I'm building up the the old bike with my older Shimano 105 components.. The CF fork that came with the Specialized frame, I will put on the "guru". my older Shimano 105 w/ Downtube shifters are almost unused. It is the 105 green...
Dex,
Pare, Nice bike, hows the ride of the sweet baby,
Oka
Thanks!
its definitely faster than the other bike... But I will know how it really performs later this afternoon.

Are you riding through the rocks there? Are all the roads like that?

no, we are not riding through rocks.. In this section, there is a lot of rocky debris on the road though. There are very few vehicles that pass through here.. No cars, only 4wd SUVs and trucks..
