Hi all,
I am a car free bike guy who has been removing my triden x from my handlebar every-time I leave my bike outside a store for a year now and its annoying.
Does anyone have an idea on how I could make the attachment a little harder for a thief to steal my light. I get that the quick release lever could be replaced by a bolt but there is still the issue of where the light slides on and off the bracket.
I'm not worried about the battery. The LI Ion Battery is so small that I doubt anyone even see's it or would know what it is.
Thanks!
Oh and in case anyone wants a Triden X review......ITS UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!

I don't have one of these lights, but you might try a zip tie. I use them to hold my taillights on so that they don't fall off, but they would probably work for what you want. On one light I had to drill a small hole to thread the zip tie through.

Hopefully this makes more sense. The headlight slides into the piece on the bottom. Those are the two pieces I would like to make more permanent. The headlamp is 300 dollars and water sealed so I cannot drill a hole into it.
Any ideas?

I think with a 300 dollar light, I would continue to remove it...

I been wantin' a LI Ion battery for quite some time. Looks like it'd even work with my Cygolite night rover. Probly make it run a real long time.
Just outta curiosity, where d'ya live?

That's for sure!
However, if you really wanted to secure the light, consider using either a cable tie or something similar to cinch around the base of the light where it secures to the bracket.
Your bracket:

This would lock the quick release tab, and wouldn't allow the light to be removed unless you cut the cable tie. Still, it wouldn't be too hard to twist the light right off the bracket. Otherwise, you'd need to fabricate a metal mounting system that screws together, perhaps just a cage of some sort that prevents removal of the light.
Again, might just make more sense to take it with you.

Davis California
I leave my bike at the local downtown coffee shop everyday. You know the one where the hipsters hang out and the bike rack is always full?

Either you actually live in Davis and are daring me to try and take it, or you don't live in Davis and are thereby unaware that you just actually narrowed it down to exactly one establishment.
Davis is a very boring city. Even the hipsters are dorks.
