General Cycling Discussion - Are there any ride events planned?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I start making my bicycle vacation plans very early, as in right now. I am planning on doing 2 or 3 bicycle events in 2009. They are the recumbent rally: http://www.hostelshoppe.com/recumbent_rally.php and/or the tri state ride: http://www.bicycleillinois.com/ and/or the Big Mac ride: http://www.mackinawchamber.com/content/view/79/212/

I know when the rally and tri state ride are going to happen but I think the Big Mac ride is going to be around the same time in June and Sept. as it was in 2008.

I am not able to do 2 or 3 of these events listed above but want to add another to it around the same time. Does anyone know of any bicycle events around the same times as these? Maybe the weekend before or after?

You might want to ask either in the Regional (http://www.bikeforums.net/forumdisplay.php?f=176)forum or the bent (http://www.bikeforums.net/forumdisplay.php?f=37) forums.

I know of a couple of sites that list rides for my area. But where are you located at? That's the key. Most people don't fly across the country to ride a century, so it tends to be localized.

The 50+ Forum is having our own ride in Colorado at the end of August (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=488051).

I am in the mid-west. I am about 8 to 10 hours from Chicago, 8 to 10 hours from Stevens Point Wisconsin and about 14 hours to Michigan. I will be driving to these areas to do the rides. If only the 3 I listed were all within a weekend or 2 of each other. If they were I'd do all 3. What I am hoping to do is do one of these events and then another one in the same area or area within no more then a days drive.

BTW, you're talking to someone who has no problem at all driving 200 miles to do a ride that is only 25 to 30 miles long.
