Forum Suggestions & User Assistance - Bad joke, if it was a joke.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

The only way that I'll believe that BikeForums is not being sold, and that the moderators aren't at war with each other, is if I some of the individuals who had nasty things said about them, say that this was all made up. I'll wait for your answere off the air.

We didn't make up! It was an April Fool's joke! It was planned!

When I saw that I did not know what to think. I thought the forum was a t war with itself. Unrelated ,Cheap bikes have their place but I can also see why some bash them.

You were always special NZLcyclist !!
It was certainly an interesting time.
I was getting very polite PMs from Raiyn asking me to pretend to 'ban' him while on the forums we were at war. It was totally crazy.
I got a PM from one of the other mods a day after the joke apologising for being really hard on me with his abuse. I think that shows how well all the mods get along. Even when all of us mods knew it was a joke he still wanted to make sure that he hadn't upset me.
Take it from me, the mods here not only care for the forums, they care for the other mods and the entire membership.
Now let's all have a group hug. :)

I was actually going to PM Koffee and apologise, but somehow I never got around to it. Would you believe I thought of quite a few barbs to use, but decided to hold them back a little. None of you want to know about the stuff I omitted.

Just like A troll writes... Hmmm...
I figured it was probably a joke. Nevertheless I did send out a PM to Joe to indicate that I was able to view the "private moderator's forum" just in case it wasn't intentional. I had a few good chuckles. My only real critcism of the whole thing was that it took too long to develop, dragged on far longer than it was funny and there was never really a good "punch line"... kinda like watching a Saturday Night Live skit. :)

Don't worry, we will start planing 4-1-05 some time next month, rather then late March... ;)
If anyone was truly offended, I apologize. At-least this year, we didn't have anyone leave the community, unlike previous years jokes! ;)

One of my coworkers one year created some realistic looking fake City of Sunnyvale parking tickets and left them on everyone's car. The following year he got some of our friends at Yahoo! to put up a fake news website with a fake news story that detailed how the buyout of our company went sour and made it look like a public press release. Not only that but the story went on to say that another company (one made up of "traitors" and ex-employees) had made a bid for us and won. That certainly ruffled a few feathers... especially our CEO who immediately called the CEO of the company that really was buying us and launched into a tirade. :)
