Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - Attaching cleats myself/lbs.

I got a pair of road shoes, should I have the LBS put the cleats on as part of my fitting. I don't think they would mind at all, I am also unsure if the cleats are adjusted according to anything. Any advice is appreciated.

Yep, if it's not too late I would ask the shop to position the cleats for you. They will be able to take into account the tracking of your knee (ie: if one swings outward on your pedal stroke) they can angle the cleat to counteract this. Of if you have a buddy riding right behind you they can check your knee tracking. The angle can make a huge difference on a longer ride.

If it's too late then no biggie, take your time getting your fit right before you tackle a long ride. Just bring your allen wrenches with you on a sunday ride so you can play with them as you go.

My bike doesn't get here until Dec. 15th, so i have been getting everything together. When the bike gets here I'm gonna get the fitting. Then my wife will keep the bike hostage until christmas :l I'm gonna have to sneak it out when she is at work during the day

I had a couple problems with cleat bolts not staying tight, you will know when you can't unclip.
just check them once in a while .

I adjust mine best I can. Like the others said, take an allen wrench with you on a weekend ride. I outline my cleat witha Sharpie or other marker so that I can see how much and which direction I move while making roadside adjustments.:D

Cool i'll have them installed at the store and when i go back for my tune up i'll have them checked as well. I have a little multitool, i'll make sure it fits the cleats as well as the bikes needs.

My feet had been hurting during my rides, so I have had my cleats adjusted...works like a charm. I think it is a very important part of the fitting! Have fun!!
