Classic & Vintage - Medici serial #s?

anybody out there know anything about the numbering system Medici used?
specifically 65 02442...
many more question to come, as this will be my first build and I'm sure I'll have loads of questions..

it looks like a pretty late model given the 2 sets of bottle bosses and the unicrown fork. There's somebody at the CR list (maybe Brian Bayliss, I'll look it up) who knows a LOT about the Medici story from the inside. He might have some clue as to the serial numbering, too.
yea, about that fork...I kind of assumed it was not original, even though it does have prefectly matched paint. The rear dropouts are Campy, front are not, and its a threadless fork. I don't think its steel either. Given that info, could it be original?
another thing I forgot to mention in the original post: rear brake cable is internally routed through the top tube.
and another: the "Medici" on the downtube does NOT have yellow stars after it. nor is there a "Medici" on the seat tube, but there is a lion...

Sounds like a replacement fork, and perhaps a repaint...check out this thread (specifically the "Medici Story parts 1 & 2") with info from Brian Baylis. You might also try contacting him (tho he's a busy guy) with your serial number and he may know more about yours. Detail shots of the lugs/seat cluster/BB shell always help.
