Burritos can be very dangerous, but nothing like squash! I'm seriously a squash addict, probably another reason why fall is the best season.

New Park Pizza on Cross Bay Blvd in Ozone Park.
The pizza place under the El in Sheepshead bay (don't remember the name).

Of course it's been a few years since I've been there so who knows what they're like now.

cool

I ask cause I don't particularly like most pizza I find in Manhattan...Queens and Brooklyn and LI, yes...not every place, of course, but the best slices I've had were out there.

I could eat spaghetti with red sauce (no meat) every day for the rest of my life and literally not get tired of it. I used to live on it when I first moved out of the house. As for it's noodly cousin, Ramen, I could never eat a sodium-laden pack of those again and I would still shudder to think of them on my deathbed.

actually New Park is in Howard beach. Its about 2 blocks off the Belt Parkway (heading east) on Cross
Bay Blvd, and yes it's still there ( google is my friend).
Used to go there as a kid, and it's a must when I'm back in N.Y.

Marty

yes

we liked a place called Mama Lombardi's on LI near the Ronkonkoma train station....it's exploded into this little pizza empire, with a huge catering hall, etc. Great crust...the place is always packed. You know it's authentic, cause whenever I'm in there I am somehow instinctively afraid Luca Brazzi is gonna whack me if I step out of line.

Um. Natto. Sushi. Ilocos empanada. Super-cold somen.

Galoot

I like natto too, but it is about the last thing I would expect to see on a "food obsession" list!

For me, it is deluxe pizza, from any decent pizza maker (i.e, not a national chain).

It depends on my mood:

1) after a day of bike riding I'm craving salty foods like chips and pizza

2) your basic female hormone surge it's chocolate -- the good stuff, don't try sneaking away by tossing a Mars bar or a Hershey's (ick) into a far corner. That stuff is hideous.

3) if I'm celebrating I like to celebrate with ice cream!

Now that's a pretty good assessment there. Maybe pretzels rather than chips, but the kitty is spot on with the quality chocolate and the (quality) ice cream.

A woman after my own heart.

actually, wouldn't one's weakest food obsession be regarding the food(s) they like least?

My weakest food obsession is probably steak...esp. bloody rare steak
