As many of you know, our very own Wordbiker gave my boys an old Redline Micro Mini that his son used to ride/race. It needed a bit of TLC, of which I have applied a decent amount over the last few weeks. The chain is not one I would trust mine sons to ride right now, but that is due to my lack of the correct chain break, something that I will remedy this weekend.

Before:

After

Repacked every bearing, installed new crank, chainring, brake cable, brake pads, tires, tube, tape and grips. Used a half tube of metal polish, full tube of elbow grease and a case of Budweiser.

Thank You Wordbiker for a very selfless act. :thumb:

Meh, it was an entirely selfish act.

Little does jsharr know, but I just used him to restore that bike. I've reported it stolen, and when he's in cuffs and I get it back it'll be good as new. MUAHAHAHAHA!!!

Kidding. You did a great job restoring it Jeff. Tell your boys unca Wordbiker is very happy to see any young boy riding a bike, but it being your boys makes me especially happy. Have a great Thanksgiving. :)

It looks better in person. Rolled over to ole Jsharr's this evening to give him a hand with the chain (though my tool was less cooperative). You won't believe what sorts of things he has in his basement... :twitchy:

If you can find my basement, you are allowed to keep all you can carry out by yourself in one trip.
