I'm considering making the trek to PA to do the Murrysville race. I originally was hoping to make the Dirty Dozen Hill Climb Challenge but family commitments are getting in the way. That event is on my bucket list and at 55 yrs old my clock is ticking. A comment on the Murrysville registration form has me concerned. The entry from states that if they don't get 7 riders in a division the race will be canceled. I really don't want to drive 2 1/2 hours to find the race canceled or only have handful of entrants. Has anyone doe the race in the past? How was the interest?
Thanks.
Bill
I actually talked to someone from Pittsburgh at state championships, and he said it was the first annual race. So I guess it depends on how all the other cross races in the area do.

This race is being held 10 miles from my house. It's the first year it's been held.
As of now, there are 53 riders registered and there are at least 7 racers in every category.

It's going to be an awesome race--the A race is drawing some VERY strong riders and will be worth seeing. People traveling should have some advantage and a slight handicap because alot of the racers will have done the Dirty Dozen the day before. The C race, B race, and Masters race also pays ten deep, so there's a pretty good chance of coming away with something.
Additionally, just got this in my email:
"Trek of Pittsburgh are generously donating a Garmin Edge 205 and 2 x $50 gift certificates. The Trek prizes will be raffled off. Each registered rider will receive a raffle ticket good for a chance for the prizes (registered for two races = 2 chances). Trek of Pittsburgh is also providing Tech support."
and
"A certain argyle dressed, Pittsburgh native Olympian/pro cyclist will be here banging out some cowbell cheer!"
and
Dirt Rag will be offering more primes.
What more could you want??

Sounds good. I see a teammate is signed up already and anticipate several more will ride. I guess I'll have to put the "Dirty Dozen" on the shelf for another year. Door prizes evens out the field for me!
