Bought a new set of cxp33's and they look great.. The front wheel though has a slight rattle, it is very noticeable when riding.. Does anyone have a clue what this is?? During my ride I ws becoming quite concerned that it might be a problem with the wheelset..

It sounds like you have a loose spoke. It may have had some windup and released on the ride. Did you hear any pings before the rattle? If it is loose enough to rattle, you should be able to wiggle it with your fingers.

I heard the pinging, which is spokes loosing tension which is normal.. I checked for loose spokes and could not find one.. I even took the tire and rim strip off looking for a loose piece of metal from the rims, but nothing found.. I have just never had a set of wheels that is creaking and noisy just riding them.. Hopefully it is just a settling process that needs to happen, I hope..

if you have presta valves, there's a little lock-nut type thing that tightens down against the rim sometimes, when you put air in the tube it pushes the valve out and that little locknut thingy can rattle. i know it can unscrew itself with road vibration and can rattle. it's hard to describe it because i don't know the technical term for it and also i just got back from a ride and am a little out of it. but look at the base of the valve right next to the rim, and tighten that little thing...or toss it. a lot of people don't use them. i like them. if you couldn't find any loose spokes that's probably it.
The loose presta valve nut was what was causing the noise in the wheels I got a couple weeks ago...
also have your hubs checked... Maybe the cones were not properly tightened..

Checked over the wheels again and the wheels still rattle even when I take the presta valve screw off.. I will have the hubs checked tomorrow..

Did you have the wheels built, or did you buy them pre-built? If they were pre-built, they were not stressed...you can acutally have the spokes rubbing against each other which can make that kind of noise. Those pre-built wheels are not very good...try your bike shop.
