hey guys im new here but i lived in australia for the past few years and i was riding alot of paved bike paths that had steeps, some hairpin windy turns,.

i was wondering if anyone knows if there are any paved paths that go along or down the escarpment or have some windy turns and stuff,
anywhere from milton to grimsby area would be nice,..
i saw on a old thread there's a paved rail line, but i havent checked it out it said it was a mild slope i think,..
i'm not into mountain biking yet more just some cool downhill paved paths,..i was in st catherines the other day and they had this cool steep triple hairpin bike path,..i was wondering if theres anything like that closer to home,..

sorry if you guys get questions like this alot,..gravel and dirt scares me too girly like that

Here is a map of some of the roads I use:

http://www.openrunner.com/index.php?id=177948

If you zoom in and press the tab to view the terrain, you can see the hills better. Also, the elevation profile is available. These are roads, however, as opposed to paths which are closed to traffic.

The best parts are between km 2-5, 7-10, 12-15, 27-29, and of course 33-35 (Appleby Line North of Derry Road).

Have fun!

Appleby LIne north of Derry and a rail trail are at opposite extremes of riding on pavement. I get scared driving down the escarpment in my truck on that part of the road!

Hamilton has 3 rail trails that ascend the escarpment, one in the east end, one in the west end and the Dundas Valley one. The views from the trails are very scenic and they all have a gentle slope, built for the trains of the 19th century. The city has a very nice map at http://map.hamilton.ca/Static/PDFs/Public%20Works/Photoshop%20-%20Bikeways%20Map%20June_2008%20-%20Urban.pdf
