Happy Thanksgiving from Scottsdale.

Here are the pics of the now finished 1985 Team Fuji.

As I mentioned earlier, the paint and decals were fragile and flaking. So, with the application of harsh and dangerous chemicals, I stripped it down to the chrome.

Here is the original catalog entry:

The bike is mostly stock Suntour. I did have a disagreement with the original stem and it is now in two pieces.

I like the geometry on this bike -- 75/74 degree ST/HT, 58mm ST and 55mm TT. This configuration fits me and is my standard cockpit.

Looks great! Is the saddle a bit forward though?

And what's that plant in the background? Hibiscus maybe? Nice pics......

Ah i love team fujis. I have an 82 that I use as my school commuter. Unfortunately they were still using hi-ten forks then, and the component set is much lower end. I am debating whether or not to repack the BB and heatset or move the parts to a newer bianchi frame.

RFC, looks great!

The head badge looks cool too, did you strip the paint off that as well or is it just showing it's age?

I've always wanted something fully chromed.

Very nice, indeed.:thumb:

What's the bar tape and saddle? That is a stunning ride!

The paint on the head badge was tattered, so I stripped off what was left. I thought about repainting it, but have never been very good at painting between the lines.

The seat is an old San Marco Regal I have had around. Tape -- my son's hockey tape.

Wow, it looks really nice. That saddle is a perfect balance between sportiness and class. Great looking bike.

Great looking Fuji.

Why is the seat mounted so far forward? Is your stem too long?

Great looking Fuji.

I've explained this ad nauseum elsewhere.

Fit over style.

Long legs, short torso, deep chest.

This is my preferred cockpit.

hey this is a great picture gallery.

anyways, your badge inspired me to do the same thing to an old fuji badge i am going to use for a project.

The paint on mine is also pretty faded, looked arcrylic since its cracked off in a few areas, and also looks to be brass?

can i ask, when you polished up the raised parts of the badge, did they shine up to be chrome in color? or did they just look like really shiny brass?

Really like the way the sober maroon and dark brown complement the chrome. Very nice.

Bougainvillea... does that mean you are in Florida?

It appears to be brass. I did very little polishing of the badge, just a once over with a Scotchbrite pad to remove the last paint and dirt.
