I went and tried these on today at the LBS. They felt soo good. So comfortable. Anyone have these? How do they work? these are expensive shoes and i dont plan on buying anymore for awhile, so if i spend the money i want something good

The upper is made of Lorica...long lasting leather-like material. Very comfortable. The new sole has gotten rid of the sole insert. The heel counter and the buckel are replaceable (I got two seasons out of a set of Nike Hautacams until the buckle broke..with the Genius I could have replaced the buckle), as is the arch strap. In addition, you can customize the shoe if you have a higher or lower arch by pulling the arch strap..that's the strap the you pull into the ratchet buckle.

We have guys at the shop who have been riding the same shoes for a long time....replaced the parts multiple times. They cost more, but they last a lot longer. Buy a cheaper shoe and you'll buy a couple more before you replace the Sidi's.

They have no peer.

What roadwarrior said. I've been told Sidi is very conscientious about shoe last and cleat placement, so when you replace them with another pair of Sidis, you can locate the cleat in the same place, and you'll get the same fit.

I don't know about you, but IMO, cleat placement is the hardest part of bike setup and fit.

I have the Genius 4 Carbon. They are great shoes. The upper are as soft as butter and the soles are very stiff.

I have wide feet, and the Sidis got ya covered whether you are wide or narrow. The Mtn bike version of the Genius is the Dominator, I have both. The Dominators have a sole you can walk in. Which may not be a concern for you. But on long rides I like to have the option to walk a bit. They are a great choice, if $$$

I just got a pair of the Lorica style yesterday, they feel fantastic!
I had a pair of Nike Altea but there is no comparison. The Sidi simply feel better on my foot, more comfortable, better paddded, even a little lighter but not giving up any support around your foot.

Get them, they're great!

I bought a pair of the G 4's about two months ago and really like them. The have held up very well and they almost have 2,000 miles on them. Very comfy!

I've been on different model Sidis for dirt and road for 8 years. They're the only thing I'll spend my cycling shoe money on. I'm currently riding a new pair of G4 Carbons and they're fantastic. Other models I've owned are Dom 2s, SRSs, G3s, and G4s. All have been great.

The only thing I change is the insole. The Sidi insole can hardly be classified as a insole. A set of Superfeet cycling insoles add the final touch to a just about perfect shoe.

good luck

What size genius 4's are you looking for? One of the LBS near me has a few sizes for $120!!!!!

Let me know and I'll take a look for you. BUT, I am in New Orleans until Thursday so you'll have to wait until then.

You've got an extremely nice sister. :^)

I LOVE my Sidis.

totalcycling.com has the best prices I've seen on Sidi G4s. Just make sure you know your size, as they ship from Ireland and can be difficult to return.
