I am buying a new road bike andI am 6 feet tall with an inseam of 34 inches...I was wondering what a standard size is for my height? 56cm?? or bigger? I have been looking at the Felt F85, Marin Portofino, specialized Allez or a KHS...any suggestions? Thanks

Its hard to compare accross different brands using just "size". As long as you have sufficient standover clearance, then length is the critical factor. Compare the top tube length (+ stem, which is changable).
Do you ride a bike at the moment. If so, measure the points of contact (pedals, saddle, bars), and use that as a baseline. You can either replicate that position, or modify it how you wish.
Agree with MichaelW. Based on your numbers, a 58cm could be better. I also would re-check your 'bike inseam' which is different than your pant inseam. You measure from your pubic bone to the floor with no shoes on. You can put a book 'on end' between your legs and measure from the book top to the ground. I am 5'10 1/2 with a 32.75" or 83.2 centimeter bike inseam. Using a quick method (Centimeter times .67), I am a 55.75 (56) cm frame size. Assuming you have a 34 inch inseam, then that would put you on a 58cm frame. That sounds about right. None of this is scientific, you need to consider top tube length, stem length and rise. Some folks have long legs, shorter torsos, etc. You are working toward a comfortable position. On my racing bike, I like the top of my bars 2 inches below the top of my seat, but on my touring bike, I have them equal. My 2 cents. Let's us know how you make out.

Hello..this depends also on center-to-center or center-to-top. Some brands use c-t other c-c. I am 5'11" and ride a 57c-t and a 55c-c. Personal Preference. I would go to a local shop and test ride a 58cm first.
