Hi all,

Just got a pair of 80's Peugeot hybrids for me and wife (hers is WSD) and trying to avoid mistakes shopping on Craigslist for a trunk mount rack.

1. Do all racks work equally well for WSD frames? With no crossbar it seems a little tricker to hang the bike and wondering if a simpler rack (without the deep pre-formed "U" holders) would offer more options.

2. How big a deal are anti-sway cradles for older bikes and older cars? Can firm strapping accomplish the same thing? Can you buy something separate to put in between the bikes to keep them from hitting each other?

Thanks!
Dennis

You can buy a rod that attaches from the stem to the seatpost to give you a horizontal attachment point. I've seen them used, but don't know the specifics.

Thanks for the posts, particularly the clip from Mr Danw! You've both made my first experience with a forum (of any kind) a success!.
