Road Cycling - How dissapointing to be sick...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Just looking for some sympathy. I sit here all stuffed up and can't swallow.
My best cycling bud is leading a great ride this morning, and it was to be my first attempt at one of my clubs
"A" rides...I was ready, really.
But, alas...I can't make it. I'm no longer feverish, and am known to ride in ANY conditions, but today I have to go back to bed.
I am so BUMMED

Yes, my back went out and my hip was (is) terribly sore, and it really slowed me down. I think active folks like we are find it almost impossible to "slow down" for a bit due to illness.
You will get better, and this is only a small obstacle if you look at this problem from a lifetime perspective!
Get well, and then go RIDE!
I'm at home recovering from abdominal surgery, and I can't ride until about the 3rd week of april, which will make it six weeks from the surgery. I was really bummed last week when we had some really nice days, but lately the weather has been horrible and will be so until at least wednesday, so I don't feel that bad. But I'm still bummed because I don't feel that great. A cold is nothing, really! But I do sympathize with feeling crappy and left out of the fun.
