Classic & Vintage - Kent Velodrome

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Anyone ever hear or see one of these? Kent Velodrome 10 speed. One came up for sale near me but I have not seen it.

I called the owner and it had the shifters on the stem and the derailers were Falcon. That told me it was a very low entry level bike. I didn't go look at it.

Darn, I was getting excited thinking that the City of Kent, WA, was going to install a velodrome, too!

I was thinking maybe there was now one at Kent State University.

Am I the only one that thinks a bike called the "Velodrome" being a 10-speed is kind of... funny?

Yes, I live in Kent (near Fairwood). Haven't meet me since I go to school in Hawaii.
I'll be back December 20th for Christmas though! I don't have any bikes at home though =[

Well, my husband has a whopping big Schwinn LeTour he doesn't use much (he prefers the MTB), so let me know if you'd like to borrow it whilst you are here :D .

I thought a name Velodrome was odd for a 10 speed also. I read in newspaper that they are going to build a Velodrome near Rock-Hill SC this summer. Thats about 50 miles from me but it should be fun when it's done. Maybe I should have bought that bike so I could ride it there,Ha Ha.

Marketing. Many times manufacturers will name something that only has a tenuous connection to the actual product. I doubt anyone ever competed in the TDF on a Schwinn Le Tour or competed at Le Mans in a Pontiac of that name. :)
