What is your intended purpose? They're a great wheel for some types of racing but I wouldn't ride them for everyday training or recreational riding. They're also quite heavy compared to the slathering of deep aero wheels currently on the market.

For the price I say you could do better, plus Mavic is testing a new version as we speak-it appears to be made of real carbon!

I think it is a great wheel for both training and racing, albeit on the heavy side. I believe the extra weight comes from the fairing. The deep section is cosmetic/aero, and does not provide any structural support...it is essentially an rim that could stand alone plus the fairing for aero benefits.
How much can you get them for? They are supposedly bombproof, so I would consider them if you are a heavier rider and you wanted to train in them AND you could get a good deal.
pinky is right though, I've also heard they are coming out with a full carbon wheel within the next couple of years.
