so I dont really skid that much-

but sometimes on big hills to help slow down-

i have had the pedals with the long plastic cages-

and I have wanted to get metal ones- which are shorter-

and when i try to skid with them, im not sure if its because they are smaller and my foot isnt in them as much or if its becuase they flex more and thats the issue?

anyone else go from plastic to metal and have this problem?

the size on them is "M" i assume medium, maybe i should have looked for a bigger size? (but i only wear a 9.5 shoe)

or is it that the plastic ones are longer and easier to use? more for begginers?

i dont know- if anyone has some advice that would be great

my main question is:

why am I having trouble skidding (at all) with metal cages? (with my plastic ones it was very easy)

What's happening when you try? Foot slip out? Foot hurting? Cages too lose?

From the sounds of things, whatever your problem is it sounds like you're saying your cages are too small, at which point you definately need to replace them or you'll never have your feet properly placed on the pedals.

i think thats what it must be-

the plastic ones had my shoe further in, but with the metal ones, they don't feel like they are in far enough- although I thought that is how they were supposed to be, i guess not.
