Basically, the article discusses how 3 of 5 of Obama's top picks for the spot are cycling advocates.

Well, you do have to remember that (before he was under Secret Service protection) Biden took the Amtrak to DC every day. I'd like to think that we've got more in common with avowed train-riders than Prius-owners. :D

Who is this "we" you speak of? Which part(s) of the country do "we" live in?

Our current President shares our President-elect's passion for physical fitness and is reputedly a fairly good mountain biker. Of course, the same cannot be said for our current Vice President.

If our current president has a passion for cycling, how come he appointed someone as anti cycling as Mary Peters to Transportation.. Sometimes, we can't afford what we need, even tho I'd help to solve some major problems like obesity , traffic congestion, gasoline consumption...My picks.. Rep. Blumenheauer sp..?.... Or how about Chicago Mayor Daley.. He's a big cycling advocate and he'd put an urban spin on our transportation issues.

If she's in charge of the Dept of Transportation, why is she determining national energy policy?

I would have the same pic for the majority of the cabinet seats in our ridiculously bloated fed. government.

But, if we gotta have one, having an actual cyclist would be nice. Notice how I said cyclist and not cyclist advocate.

To me advocate=nosy SOB who thinks he can fix my problems with somebody else's money.

Emphasis on Mountain. As I understand it he even has his own trail setup. I doubt that he gets buzzed much.

He can't bring in Mayor Daley. Because Daley has the last name Daley and lives in Chicago he's considered to be taking bribes. Bringing in Daley would remove all confidence that remains in the executive branch.
