Road Bike Racing - Bay Area (Berkeley, CA) College Criterium - Sunday, April 4th

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I just wanted to let everyone in the Bay Area know that there is a college criterium tomorrow being held on the streets of Berkeley for anyone who is interested in attending. It's FREE and guaranteed to be exciting. It's being held by our team in the heart of Berkeley. If your in the area and have an inking to help out, PM me and I can give you directions since we need all the help we can get. If not, I still recommend that you come check it out. It's around the block that Cafe Strada is one. (Bancroft-->College-->Durant-->Bowditch) For more information:http://www.calcycling.org/race/2004/race-weekend.php I will be racing and OneTinSloth from the board will be volunteering later in the afternoon with me.

cycling scene is pretty good i guess for everything. there are plenty of dirt jumpers, downhillers, loads of roadies, mtb's and a small fixed gear population. i suggest joining the cycling team since it's full of cool people and lets you race for $7. so, that $60/year is gold since you get discounts, sponsorships and cheap, cheap races. plus you get to meet tons of people. it's open to anyone regardless of your level, which is really cool since it's not like a varsity sport with practice everyday etc..
