I thought thread titles were supposed to remain bolded until I read them, at least within a few days time-out. What I have found lately is that

>>> some remain bolded after I open them

>>> some revert to plain after I read them

AND HERE'S THE PROBLEM

>>> after I respond to one thread in one subforum, all the thread ON THE SITE in all forums become normal, not bolded. A few soon become bolded, but they represent responses that were posted after I posted my one response.

It's a very nice feature to be able to (as it was) to look at the thread list for a subforum and quickly see the ones that have new responses. It's much less nice and more time-consuming to (as it is now for around a week) have to look at the times and dates to see if there is something new in certain threads.

Why did this change, and what do I have to do in my settings to fix it?

Just had the same dang problem again.

I'm not sure so don't quote me but I think the hierarchy is this:

When you visit the main directory the sections are listed with the number of thread and total views (since when? DUNNO). Going into each section, the database highlights posts you have not read yet. INSIDE the section the threads are only listed in the order of most current response and the name of the most current poster. When you enter the thread only the names of the currently ACTIVE members in the thread are highlighted.

I know, I know a "light" or status message could've been done. Highlighting the name probably uses less coding than installing more graphics elements at this point...after all you have Igors, stars, yellow jerseys and six kinds of marshmallows in me Lucky...okay.

If that helped you, great. If not I hope I befuddled you with great authenticity and thanks for asking :D:rolleyes:;)

Names of threads are sometimes shown in bold face and sometimes not - haven't you seen this?

It supposed to be that threads with new posts are BOLD. However some of the mechanics of how that works is based on a cookie on your computer from what details I know. Depending on your internet settings, other programs such as firewalls, etc, this system doesn't always work correctly or promptly.
