My wife and I set out on a 30 mile ride this morning. We headed up the coast a bit then turned inland along the river. Got to our planned turn around spot and felt pretty good so I convinced my wife we should try a little climbing. We headed up toward the lake for some rolling hills with a couple of nice climbs including a mile of 5% +. Had a bite to eat on the patio overlooking the lake then headed for home. Got within a mile of our house and realized we'd gone over 45 miles so we took a ride around the harbor to get our 50. And my wife didn't think she was up to doing 30 when we left the house. Beautiful day, beautiful scenery, beautiful riding partner and our first half century. Doesn't get much better than that.
