I got a pair of velocity fusions laced to nashbar hubs for 92 bucks shipped. They're in great shape and true, too.
I think they went for so cheap because the guy said, "these hubs have OLD bearings" in the listing as opposed to O.L.D. or something so that people knew he meant the type of bearings and not that they were just really ****ing old.

Selling one of those "Puma Fixed Gear" guides for $40 a few years ago.
Deep Vs for $90 shipped a few years ago.

That sounds like an awesome score. Does it have gears? If I decide to coast I want a bike with gears so i keep looking for a good bike, maybe vintage steel but not sure I could deal with down tube shifters. OK, that's another thread entirely.

how does that work being that the site and currency are japanese?

Yep, geared. It's a '97, so not really vintage, but a solid cro-mo frame. It's designed to be a sport-tourer which means braze-ons for my rack and fenders and geared for touring rather than racing. Pretty much the perfect commuter.
As for DT shifters, they take about 5 minutes to get used to and they're lighter and more reliable than brifters. As long as you're not racing there's really no downside to them.

well i had a nagasawa frame on the way.... and i ended winning the auction for around 180$ converted...then with middle man fees and "free shipping" as it was thrown into the same EMS box = around 215$ shipped for all the said parts
i used to troll YAJ ALOT, looking for frames and parts and google translator was my best friend kinda. i still needed a middle man to ask questions to the seller about frame dents and what size et cetera. middle man fees killed =\. those blogspot guys who have japanese bank accounts and then EMS to america are winnars at the importing game forsure.
what'd you do with the chainrings?
i sold all of them the rings for 50/ea except for the 49t 7710 ring which is seen on the nagasawa in my signature.

Well, I don't know how great of a deal it was since I don't know much about bikes aside from what I read here (heaven help me...), but it was by far the cheapest one I had seen on ebay:
White Turbo (from 1985, if I'm reading the little stamp on the underside correctly) for $44 shipped.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=130270073608
It cleaned up fairly well and I think it'll make for a great ride.

white turbos are certainly getting rarer-ish.... I think its also cuz there are more listings on ebay/craigslist over the summer season.
right now there is some wacko trying to sell a white turbo with "thousands of miles" on it, for $50 on the toronto cragislist.
anyways, the one off ebay i got cleaned up really nice, and to my behind it feels like a nice sporty version of the brooks i was running.

After a few rides its still looking good, feels great. its far firmer feeling than the marshmellow that it looks like.

I got this frame off eBay for $150. Built by Dave Tesch; he made frames for Masi. Aggressive geometry, Columbus tubing. One of these days I'll get it built up.
