Yesterday I rode with my new Sid Hydro GTX Winter cycling shoes for the first time. I rode in rural Kane county just outside of suburban Chicago in 40 degree F temperature. The shoes worked exceedingly well without winter overshoes at this temperature. They were warmer than my Sidi Genius 5.5 Carbon Composite Shoes with winter overshoes. Although I did not test them for water resistant they are claimed to be waterproof. The downsides include less flexibility than my regular Sidi road shoes. They were slightly constricting round my ankles but that may have been because the top strap may have been pulled too tight. They are heavier than regular road shoes. For winter riding in a cold climate these are highly recommended.
