Are you speaking of the same Ohio that's adjacent to West Virginia? If so, I spent a year there one weekend.

Come on, Ohio is a Great place to live and ride. I got laid off a couple off weeks ago, so I have been riding most every day (except the days I have spent hunting, both game and work)

I just got back from this morning's training ride. 2 hours in southern wayne and northern holmes counties. When we left it was 25 degrees with 18 mile an hour winds out of the southwest so thats the direction we headed. This time of year we find the roads that normally dont get done in the summer, think dirt roads or big chipandseal. and the worse the road surface and the more potholes the better. It just reaced 32 by the time we got home and the winds have died down to about 16 mph .

I love riding in Ohio winters!!

I was born and raised in Houston, Texas, joined the military out of high school and now i'm in Ohio cause of college in state tuition.(parents moved to Ohio while I was active so I unfortunately claimed residency) If it wasn't for triple the cost of tuition I would drive the Ohio border just to not set foot in this god forsaken state! I can deal with 30 and above temps, but holy cow it is brutal below that, why would one choose to subject themselves to this horrible place?

"Nickle Beer Night" was at the old Indians stadium in 1972 Mitch.
Streaker on the field, drunks everywhere, then a mass riot after a bad call in the 6th inning.
Fortunately I was able to drink($1 all day) my way through this ordeal.

I've lived in Columbus for the past 11 years. I'll be moving in the spring, and Im going to miss the place. Aside from the fact that most people here treat a snow shower as "white death", its really nice living here. Mild spring and fall, nice summer. Cold winter, but thats what beer and hockey are for.

The CBJ, arena district, high street, the parks, the bike trails, the 5k, 10, 13.1 and 26.2 races, and meeting my fiancee here are all reasons i'll be sad when we move next year.

http://avonprobaseball.com/images/preunveil.jpgThey decided on The Crushers? What a cliche name. That's like naming your bodyguard "Killer". It's just totally unnecessary.

On the other hand, it's good they didn't go with the Avon Avocado's.

February in Mich. is nothing but gray. March is gray + mud.

But this a.m. in SW lower Mich: 19 degrees F, mostly sunny. 1.5" of new powder. You know you're jealous.

Having grown up in Chicago, I really see Ann Arbor as a sunny vacation spot, but there's not as much snow in either place as in, say, Norwalk! Lake Erie lake effect is NASTY! But then, Chicago has wind and lingering cold ...

Western Michigan gets a lot more snow than Ann Arbor.

Oh dear god....

As a non-native in either state....and as someone who has lived in BOTH states....and as someone who now lives in Illinois.....I feel I can pass impartial judgement in the Michigan-Ohio "war"

....No contest. Hands down Michigan wins.

what!!! That s***hole!? Michigan was a landfill for nuclear waste and Agent Orange before..... wait, it still is!
Their cars suck
Their football team sucks (worse than the Browns, not that I care about NFL)
They've changed their capital city before
Their citizens are more deformed and stupid than Pittsburgh's
Detroit stinks (literally)
I'm pretty sure they soiled their diaper
And they trained LEMOND to be the most diabolical killing machine ever bred

Not to mention that Michigan is the 2nd worst state in the Union behind Alaska, which needs to melt immediately. We'd lose an important watchtower of Russia and the failed VP nominee, but WTF cares?
