Recreational & Family - Anyone have experience with the Giant Revive?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I have been looking at cruisers, comfort, and hybrid bikes for a bike that will be used just for cruising around town. I have a high quality road bike, and just want another bike for non-serious stuff. I tried a Giant Revive and frankly am very intrigued. My biggest problem with the road bike is that I have some serious neck problems which aren't allowing me to ride in the bent over position. So I'm just not riding much now.

We sell them in my shop and I've had the pleasure of test riding several of them. It's not my style but I tend to cal them a "Barca longer on wheels" because they are so comfortable and COMPLETELY adjustable. If it gets you out riding I thinkyou'd be well served.

check out some of the cruiser and town bikes by Breezer. They are very practical.
Also, consider moveing your bar position with a shorter/higher stem. You can set up a road bike in a touring style position.
My FBS has them and I test rode one. They're fun to ride and you can even pop a wheelie with them. :D As Raiyn said, they're a great bike if they get more people to start riding. Well, anything's a good bike in that case.

Did a quickie test ride on a Revive when they first hit the market.
Comfortable, easy to pedal, low to the ground, a bit heavy, and if you really wanna push, use your back pushing against the backrest for more leg power.
It will also probably solve your neck/back issue problem.
Keep riding!

Look at a true recumbent like RANS, Burley, EasyRacers, Sun, etc. Lighter, faster, more adjustable, PAINLESS...check out www.bentrideronline.com for reviews and info.
"Get bent"! ;)
